Thanksgiving could be the best day of the year. We gather with our loved ones and eat until our pants don’t fit. It’s amazing. We seem to always eat the same dishes: cheesy potatoes, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, and of course green bean casserole.
Because of this Thanksgiving is the optimal time to try out a new dish. If it’s lackluster there’s plenty of other food for people to eat, and if it’s a hit you’ll get praise for days. We’ve been brainstorming some unique side dish ideas. We started thinking about the best flavors of Thanksgiving and realized that it’s a combo of some of our favorite side dishes: mashed potatoes & gravy, cranberries, and stuffing. So we came up with this idea for Thanksgiving Bruschetta! It’s SO simple to throw together and it’s a great appetizer because each slice is pre-made so you won’t have 10 people surrounding the same dish (I’m looking at you dip).
We decided to use boursin cheese as the base because it’s a little more exciting then cream cheese and the herb flavors blend well with the stuffing. But you can totally change this recipe up to fit your taste! You can easily use crackers instead of baguettes and ditch the cranberries if you’re not into tartness.
Overall we really love this recipe and plan on making it well into the Spring!
Ingredients:Â
- Sliced Small Baguettes
- Boursin Garlic & Herb Cheese
- Turkey Stuffing Mix
- Dried Cranberries
- Turkey Gravy
Directions:Â
- Make your stuffing according to the box and mix in some dried cranberries. Set aside.
- Lay your baguettes out on a tray
- Spread some Boursin cheese on each baguette
- Top each baguette with some stuffing mixture
- Drizzle (hot) gravy on each baguette
- Serve!
What’s your go-to Thanksgiving dish?
