Sweet & Saucy Shop | Long Beach, CA

Sweet & Saucy Shop in Long Beach, CA by Twinspiration: https://twinspiration.co/sweet-saucy-shop/

The Cupcake Tour of Hollywood we did last week got me thinking about my all time favorite desserts, and bakeries. Sprinkles is definitely at the top of the list, but they have one flaw, they ONLY serve cupcakes (unless you’re going to Sprinkles Ice Cream of course). Carli and I like a variety of desserts, so that we can pick and choose a few treats to munch on (& by munch I mean devour in record time).

With that said, I immediately thought about Sweet & Saucy Shop in Long Beach. Carli and I first went there one day between classes, since it was right across the street from our school (they have since moved). We couldn’t believe the selection they had! They sell cupcakes (mini and regular size), cake pops, cake push pops, French macarons, frosting shots, cookies, whoopie pies, krispie treats, mini cheesecakes, mini tarts/pies, & don’t even get me started on their custom cakes!

It’s definitely the only bakery I’ve been to that is stocked with mini desserts, which is great because it gives you the opportunity to try a little bit of everything, without overindulging. Every time I go I HAVE to get a mini (or regular size, depending on how my day is going) Candy Bar Cupcake. It’s my favorite cupcake in the universe, & I’m guessing it will be yours too. The Candy Bar Cupcake consists of: Vanilla buttermilk cake, chocolate ganache filling, peanut butter cream cheese frosting, & salted caramel. I MEAN.

Oh, and their macarons! I LOVE French macarons, and I’m always on the search for the best one. I thought my search would be over when I stepped foot in Bouchon Bakery in Las Vegas, but their macarons were sadly disappointing. So, as of now, I’ll say Sweet & Saucy has the best French macarons I’ve had, and they have a large variety of flavors. My favorite is the salted caramel (there’s caramel oozing out of the center!).

Sweet & Saucy moved their Long Beach location (semi) recently, and are now located at 3722 Atlantic Ave. It’s absolutely adorable, with tufted gray couches, and striped wooden chairs. They also have a Newport Beach location, at 7922 East Coast Highway.

Next time your sweet tooth strikes check it out! 🙂
