Dollar Tree Makeup Stand

Dollar Tree Makeup Stand

I have never been a big fan of the dollar tree. I always found them cluttered with unnecessary items. That is until I moved to LA (the valley specifically). The Dollar Tree by my house got RAVE reviews on Yelp, so I decided to pay them a visit. On my first visit I noticed how many household items they have, including toilet paper (4 rolls for $1!) and cleaning supplies. They also have TONS of glassware, including these really cute leaf print tumblers (too bad its already december). I did however purchase these adorable wine glasses, that have Merry Christmas printed around it in red and green. They had a few other varieties as well. I couldn’t believe they were only a dollar, because the glass is actually really thick, and feels shatterproof (which I need, considering I broke three glasses in one week. Oops).

After such a great first time at The Tree (yeah I abbreviated it, so what), I decided to go back the following week to explore the Christmas section some more. They have everything you need for gift wrapping FYI. However, I found some adorable silver metal serving trays. I adore a good tray. I use them for anything and everything: glassware, candles, jewelry, perfume, and of course makeup. My sink area is quite small, and I create a small monsoon on my counter every time I wash my face. So I decided to buy a candlestick for my tray, and create a Dollar Tree makeup stand! Ah, light bulb!

Supplies:

Directions:

All you do it put some E6000 on both the candlestick and the tray. Let it sit for two minutes, them press the two together. The directions are also on the back of the tube. Let it sit overnight to cure.

I purchased my E6000 at Michael’s with a 40% off coupon, so it was only $2.40. Which makes the total cost of this project $4.40. However if you already have E6000 then you only need to spend two dollars! Also, I strongly suggest you have E6000 on hand at all times.

What a clever idea….again!! I like this because it’s practical without looking like a piece of Tupperware on the counter 🙂
