Rainbow Funfetti Dip
Rainbow is popping up everywhere (pun intended)! When we first saw rainbow hair we thought it would be good and gone quick, but it’s still holding it’s own in the world of trends. This rainbow highlighter went viral recently so we made our own version (check that out here!). And who could forget about rainbow bagels, complete with funfetti cream cheese. We still have to try these. They look delicious and completely Instagram worthy!
We have been making this simple “dunkaroo” dip for years. It’s super easy to throw together and tastes like cake batter, so it’s always a hit. We decided to hop on the rainbow trend and spice it up a bit. Because a colorful plate is healthy, right?
Ingredients:
- 1 Box of Funfetti Cake Mix
- 1½ cups of Low-fat Vanilla Yogurt
- 2 Cups Light Cool Whip
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- Neon Food Coloring (we recommend using gels)
- Animal Crackers
Directions:
- Mix first four ingredients together until there are no clumps
- Divide mixture into four separate bowls.
- Add 2-4 drops of food coloring to each bowl. We used blue, pink. purple, green, orange and yellow.
- Add the four bowls to one large bowl and swirl together with a toothpick to create a tie dye effect (we didn’t want to over-mix since half the fun is mixing when you dip, but feel free to mix the colors until you’re content!)
- Serve with animal crackers
What do you think about this rainbow trend?!

Its perfect for a baby shower! So bright and colorful. Thanks for stopping by Jessie! xx
We don’t have funfetti cake mix in Canada, would this work with vanilla? I guess this is a vanilla country…
Normal white or yellow cake mix would work fine, do you have those?!
Would it work to sub cream cheese for the yogurt since I’m not a fan of yogurt unless its frozen?
I’m sure it would work! Your dip would just be a little thicker and probably taste more like cheesecake 🙂
this looks so good 🙂
This is happening at my daughter’s troll party tomorrow! 🙂
Have you tried this as a dip for fruit? I’m thinking of doing that for my daughter’s upcoming rainbows and unicorns party and am hoping someone has tried it out!
Can this be made 1-2 days in advance and still taste as good?? Thinking of making it for my daughter’s birthday party on Saturday but I need to make it like Thursday or Friday.
Does this need to be stored in the refrigerator? And is it possible to make it the day before the event? Thanks so much!
Thanks for the like. Fun dip.
can this be made a day ahead?
Did u ever find out if u can make it ahead of time
This could be made ahead of time, yes!
Silly question, but Is the cake mix safe to eat without cooking? Since it has flour in it?
why would you do this. I trusted you girls
