DIY Rosé Halloween Costume

DISCLAIMER: This costume is our interpretation of rosé & there are definitely a few recommendations we have for you so that your costume is even better than ours! You live and you learn right?

A couple years ago our favorite blogger Studio DIY made this adorable Glass of Champagne Costume:

Studio DIY

We decided to give her costume a modern twist and create “glasses of rosé” costumes, since these days millennials drink rosé like it’s water.

Going into this costume we thought it would be SO EASY. All we had to do was find cute pink outfits (that WAS the easy part), gather some balloons, and grab a bottle of rosé. Well we hit a few speed bumps along the way and our costumes didn’t turn out as streamlined as Kelly’s. She sets the bar so high.

The first note we have for you is to use an EMPTY bottle of rosé. We bought ours the day of our shoot so we didn’t have the time to drink two full bottles. Our bottles were super heavy and hard to carry! So do yourself a favor and drink up.

Another issue we ran into was with the balloon strings. We had a busy morning the day of this shoot so our boyfriends offered to go get the balloons for us. The bundles turned out perfect but the strings were SO LONG. We didn’t bring scissors with us to cut them and even though we wrapped them around the bottles multiple times we still couldn’t get the strings to an ideal length. Kelly’s costume shows the balloons touching her bottle which looks very authentic. So just be sure to cut your balloons strings to an appropriate length!

Aside from those two things we actually really like how these costumes turned out! They are simple, modern, and fun! All of which we strive to be. We plan on “fixing” our costumes before Halloween. So this shoot was more or less a test run!

The best part about this costume is that we can easily these pink outfits, which is something we always look for in a Halloween costume. Costumes can get so expensive and you literally wear them for one day! So that’s a plus for us.

If you’re a fan of the show Scream Queens we also think these pink ensembles would work if you want to go as a Chanel!

What you’ll need:

  • Pink Outfit- we purchased these tops & skirts (they’re on sale!)
  • Bottle of Rosé (preferably empty)
  • Dark & Light Pink Balloons, tied together at different lengths. They can do this for you at Party City. We used 9 balloons in each bundle!

Directions:

  1. Purchase an all pink outfit (easy, right?)
  2. For the balloons we went to Party City and had them make us each a bundle consisting of 5 light pink balloons and 4 dark pink balloons each, totaling 9 balloons. They can also cut the strings different lengths for you! Make sure to pay extra so that they stay inflated all night!
  3. Tie the strings around the top of the bottle of rosé. The balloons should appear to be the “bubbles” from the rosé
