Spring is officially here! With the weather heating up in Los Angeles, we wanted to make a simple, refreshing cocktail. If you’ve followed us for awhile you’ll know that our go-to alcohol is wine. Wine is nice and light and one glass can really help you relax after a long day.
It took us awhile to think of a Spring cocktail we could make using wine. We didn’t want to make the usual sangria, or a spritzer (still unsure what a spritzer is TBH). So we came up with this simple tropical wine slushie! Sounds refreshing right? And the best part is, you probably already have the ingredients in your fridge!
For this post we’re using Black Box Wines. Black Box Wine is great for the Spring & Summer months because it’s easy to transport. It also stays fresh for up to 6 weeks! Which is awesome, since three liters of wine is a lot for one person to take down. Black Box Wines have won over 50 Gold Medals for its quality, and let’s just say this stuff is tasty! Also, if you don’t like to pay a lot for your vino, Black Box Wines are available for 40% less than comparable bottled wines!
So, without further ado, here is the recipe!
Ingredients:
- 4 Cups (chilled) Pinot Grigio
- 3/4 Bag Frozen Peaches
- 3/4 Bag Frozen Pineapple
- 1 Cup Ice
Directions:
- In a blender combine the wine, peaches, & pineapple. Puree until smooth. Add Ice and pulse until you reach desired slush consistency.
- This recipe makes 8 cups of drink. You can always make a batch and place some in the freezer, then just defrost for 15 minutes at room temp when you want a top off!

04/27/2016 at 9:56 amWe got them at World Market! Here is the link: http://bit.ly/1VCA3VS
They sell them individually in the store. We stocked up when they had their 50% off glassware sale. They ended up being $3 each!
