The Perfect Blazer Sweater Jacket

It’s no secret that I’ve gotten very into coats and jackets in the past year. Truth be told, I’ve been waiting for this coat-obsession to kick in nearly my whole life. I grew up watching my mom have coat obsession and always just loved looking in her coat closet. I remember admiring her coats as a little girl and hoped that someday I could have my own coat closet filled with beautiful coats and jackets. I definitely didn’t account for the fact that in my adult life I would be living in Southern California, where the weather doesn’t always allow for quality winter coats.

Because it never gets that cold here, I always look for coats or jackets that aren’t too heavy but still have a nice weight to them. I definitely think that if you’re going to spend your money on any item of clothing, it should be coats (or shoes). They’ll last for years and years if you take care of them! Anyways, I was on Nordstroms site recently and noticed this appropriately named Blazer Sweater-Jacket by Madewell was 30% off. After reading all the positive reviews I knew I needed to have it. As soon as the jacket arrived, I couldn’t’ believe how “me” it was. First of all, dark blue is my favorite color and I love a good blazer. I also love things that are slightly oversized – I just feel one step closer to becoming Mary-Kate & Ashley in oversized outerwear. I just truly love this jacket! It’s definitely more of a heavy sweater material, if you live in a cold climate you would need to wear a coat overtop for sure but it’s perfect for LA weather!

I will say I sized down to an XS after reading reviews and I’m so glad I did. I think the sleeves would have been way too long if I would have gotten a small.

For my first time wearing the jacket, I decided to pair it with other blue-toned pieces. My favorite button-down top from Zara and my new Levi’s that I’m obsessed with totally completed this outfit!
