New Essence Cosmetics Releases
We love drugstore makeup and often gravitate towards it. It’s amazing to find high-quality items at a low cost. And makeup shouldn’t be expensive! Essence Cosmetics is one of those brands that we know we can depend on. You guys already know how much we love their Pure Nude Highlighter (holy grail status!).
So we’re so thrilled to be partnering with Essence to show you their new releases for summer! Let’s get to the reviews!
Essence Volume Stylist 18H Lash Extention Mascara | $4.99
We were honestly shocked at how much we liked this one. We don’t usually like “extension” or fiber mascaras because the fibers cause fallout and often irritate our sensitive eyes. This did nonw of that! It really provides a lot of length AND volume without the lashes clumping together. The brush is nice and curved which makes for an easier application.
Essence Volume Stylist 18H Curl & Hold Mascara | $4.99
We always look for volume over length when it comes to mascara but that can be tricky since a lot of volumizing mascaras tend to make the lashes clump together. While this one did cause a bit of clumping it looks more natural on the eyes and not like the lashes were stuck together. The wand on this is curved which we often prefer because it fits pefcetly in the lash line. If you have extremely thin lashes you would probably LOVE this!
Essence Metal Shock Lipsticks | $4.99
We’ve purchased metallic liquid lipsticks in the past but more of them have a matte finish so when they dry down it literally looks like you have liquid metal on your lips which is just not something we want. We’re all about trying new beauty trend but in the RIGHT way. You all know that we like our makeup to look a bit more natural and wearable so when we first got these metal shock lipsticks we were a bit nervous. But these lipsticks are incredibly creamy and they have a satin finish so they look a lot more like lipstick on the lips which in turn looks more natural. There are 8 shades total and some we definitely like more than others but that’s just personal preference. We appreciate the range Essence put out because you have everything from a nude to a deep green. There are also THREE pink shades which are perfect for summer! So let’s go through each shade, shall we?
01 Iron Maiden– This is one of our favorite shades from the bunch! It’s a try rose gold so it acts like a nude on the lips. This would be an amazing lip topper over a deep matte shade or you could even just use it in the center of the lips to create more dimension!
02 Guns ‘N Rose– This is the brightest pink of the three and a bit more sheer than the others. It would be great to wear on a light makeup day or to the pool when you just want a bright pop of color!
03 Ace of Hearts– This shade is STUNNING. It leans more berry than pink which makes it incredibly wearable. This is one of the most opaque shades and one that we would reach for on a day to day basis for sure!
04 Pink Metallica– This shade has tiny specks of glitter in it. Glitter isn’t really our thing but this shade definitely makes a statement for summer!
05 Purple Pistol– Literally dying over this shade! We LOVE vampy lipsticks and this purple is so deep and beautiful. The metallic in here is very subtle which makes this shade completely wearable. Obsessed!
06 Stargazer– This blue reminds us so much of the ocean. It’s a bit more sheet than some of the other shades but it’s definitely buildable.
07 Venom– This green has the same formula as 03 or 05. Super opaque with almost a wet look to it. We never thought we’d be into green lipstick but we kind of love this.
08 Toxicity– This is the only one from the bunch we couldn’t get to work. It has glitter in it like 04 but it’s also pretty sheer so the glitter makes it a little patchy. You could definitely try this as a lop topper though!
So there you have it! We’re loving these new essence products and can’t wait to see what they release for fall! Have you tried any of these?!
xx, Britta
You girls are so pretty! I have reviewed the essence’s mascaras too but I haven’t seen the metallic lipstick, I need to find them, I really want to jump on the metallic lips train but I didn’t want to spend a lot! 5bucks seams reasonable!

Thanks, Mimi! Definitely, try out the metallics that aren’t glittery at all! Like the Rose Gold one 🙂
I have never tried this brand…I am going to have to now!
Those are some funky lipstick colours! At least they’re affordable so you can test out if you like the look.
