We know we’re posting this a little early but we’re actually going to New Jersey for a wedding at the end of the month (we leave today actually), so we’ll be including all those festivities in next month’s recap! We had quite the eventful May, so let’s get into it!
Friend in Town
One of our best and oldest friends Monica came to visit us all the way from Maui! She started her own organic farm over there and we couldn’t be more proud. We’ve been friends for 19 years and for most of that time Monica has been passionate about sustainable foods and the environment. She’s visited us in LA before but as you know, there’s so much to do here so we took her to some of our favorite places like Trails Cafe, Golden Road, and the Melrose Trading Post. We hadn’t been to the trading post in a couple years and it has grown so much. We bought some candles from RX and crystals from The Hidden Gem. So many good finds!
INF Event
Clique Media was nice enough to invite us to their offices for a fun summer gifting suite. The event was on their patio and even though it was cold and drizzling it still looked beautiful! We were able to try some goodies from Milk Makeup, Peter Thomas Roth, Herbivore Botanicals, and even Milk Bar (their B’Day Truffles are TO.DIE.FORE). Because it was so cold we only got two photos (fail), but we’ll be reviewing the goodies we picked up on our YouTube channel and Instagram, so be on the lookout for that!
Unique LA
We had heard so many good things about Unique LA so we knew we had to check it out. It’s a great place to buy artisan goods from (over 300) local vendors, and we love supporting local businesses (#shopsmall). Dainty jewelry is our favorite and due to my nickel allergy, I can no longer wear most of the pieces I own. So Carli and I took this opportunity to find some well made, affordable jewelry. We got the cutest Aquarius necklaces from LVL Collective and it turns out the owner, Laura, is from Green Bay as well. Small world! Unique LA happens twice a year and we can’t wait to check out the Holiday market!
New Hair!Â
We changed up our hair this month and we love the lighter hue! We’ve been through a lot with our hair. We’ve been using eSalon for our roots for a while, but we also used their Light Lab kits to add highlights. They were too subtle for our preference so we went to Balayage by Gigi to get our hair professionally done. It’s still warmer than we’d like but we know hair is a process and we still love how it turned out!
We hope you had a great month!Â
xx, Britta
