Kopari Beauty
Ever heard of Kopari Beauty? If not, then you’ve been missing out. Britta and I recently discovered this awesome beauty brand and I wanted to share my review of a few of their products today! ALL of their products start out with 100% organic coconut oil. Most of the products only have 2-5 ingredients added after the coconut oil and you can pronounce most of those ingredients. It feels good to know what’s in your beauty products.
I also LOVE coconut oil and use it frequently to remove mascara and moisturize my lips so I was really excited to try these products.
Now let’s get on with the review:
Coconut Body Glow
Packaging/Applicator: I LOVE this packaging. The bottle is glass and has a more high-end feel to it. I think the turquoise looks beautiful paired with the golden/bronze color of the product. I also love the pump on this. It makes it really east to control how much product you’re taking out.
Scent: This stuff has a clean, fresh, cottony scent. It also has a hint of floral scent to it, very Spring-like. I’m surprised it doesn’t really smell like coconut at all!
Application: This stuff just glides right on. The instructions say to shake before pumping out the product which I think helps to really mix the oil and glitter together. It’s very easy to spread and a little goes a long way!
Texture: I can definitely tell that the base of this is body glow is coconut oil. It’s a very light oil that doesn’t feel heavy on the skin but it doesn’t completely soak into your skin. The glitter pieces in this are larger than I was expecting but more finely milled than craft glitter. It didn’t irritate my skin or feel scratchy when I was spreading it around.
Look: I had assumed this was going to similar to a face highlight but I was wrong. It is definitely more glittery than shimmery if that makes sense. Face highlighters (like my favorite BECCA Opal) are very finely milled so they add shimmer to your face. The glitter in this body glow is large enough that you can see each piece. I am not a big fan of glitter on my body or face so I don’t know how often I’ll wear this.
As far as the color goes, it’s darker in the bottle than it is on the skin. If you’re looking to gain some color, then I’d go with a self-tanner over this stuff.
Wear time: This stuff is semi waterproof! Some of it does come off when your body comes in contact with water, but most of it stays on. If you want a nice glow on vacation and still want to go in the pool or ocean, this is a great option for you.
Overall thoughts: I would use this if you are looking for an all-over sparkle for a night out or you want a glow by the pool. Like I mentioned, I’m not a big glitter fan so I won’t be reaching for it often.
Coconut Sheer Oil
Packaging/Applicator: Just like the first product, I absolutely love the packaging. I like that the bottle is glass and I oddly like the applicator. When you twist off the cap, you’ll find a long glass dropper (sorry I didn’t get a picture!). The dropper makes it super easy to control how much oil is coming out. I personally think all oil-based products should have an applicator like this.
Scent: Again, I don’t get a strong coconut scent coming from this oil. I was disappointed because I love the smell of coconuts but it is nice to have a beauty product with a very mild clean, fresh scent.
Application: As I mentioned before, the applicator makes it very easy to control how much oil is coming out. I just dabbed a few drops onto my fingers and then put some on my lips and some on the ends of my hair. The website also suggests using it as a moisturizer but I was a little scared since I’ve never put coconut oil all over my face. This oil did seem to soak into my skin, lips and hair a lot more than plain coconut oil does.
I normally take stubborn eye makeup off with coconut oil and I think this stuff would work just as well for that! I’ll keep you updated.
Texture: If you’ve ever felt melted coconut oil, this has the same texture but it is a tad less runny.
Overall thoughts: I really like this product! I think it will replace coconut oil for me which I use to remove my makeup and treat chapped lips.
