January 2017 Recap
To be quite honest the whole month of January was pretty uneventful. After a whirlwind of a December we decided to rest up and enjoy some much needed relaxation time. BUT our birthday was in January and we actually had a really amazing time celebrating. Read more below!
Living Room Revamp
We partnered with Desenio to revamp our living room and make it more of a curated space and less of a complete mess. We created this gallery wall of art prints, purchased new throw pillows and side tables. We upgraded our plant and completely overhauled our bookshelf. Look for the full reveal next week!
Generation Beauty Los Angeles
I (Carli) went to GenBeauty LA on Saturday, January 21st (the day before our bday). If you’re a makeup lover, you have to get yourself to GenBeauty. There were 42 brands there this year, it was a huge event! I got to catch up with one of our friends from college (pictured with me here), which just added to the GenBeauty fun! Jouer was also selling their powder highlighters so I picked up Citrine for Britta and I which basically made my whole month, if you love makeup then you know they’ve been sold out forever!
26th Birthday Celebration
We always think we’re going to plan some amazing weekend away when our birthday comes around and it literally never works out. We’re always broke from the holidays and SOMETHING always interferes. This year it happened to be Gen Beauty (see above). But instead of giving up on celebrating all together we decided to have a low-key nice dinner with a few of our closest friends. Dare I say it was one of the best birthdays we’ve ever had?! We went Cleo at the Redbury and it was everything we wanted it to be. The food was delicious, our server was just as crazy as we are, and the drinks were out of this world. We ended up staying until midnight, just chatting and laughing the night away. Our best friend Grace also surprised us with a shiny, gold cake. It literally sparkled. The next morning we went to brunch at Messhall Kitchen and watch the Packers devastating loss. It was pouring rain that day so we spent the rest of our birthday relaxing at hoe. T’was a perfect weekend.
Sorry that our month wasn’t too exciting but finger’s crossed we have more to share in February!
xx, Britta
