Every time I wear my favorite black turtleneck, someone comments on how I look like Steve Jobs (I’m looking at you James, Britta and Tommy). As funny as it sounds, I liked Steve Jobs’ retro, simple style so I’ll just take that as a compliment. All Steve Jobs talk aside, I really love turtlenecks. I know they’re not for everyone but something about them just makes me feel classy and put together and I just feel good in them.
A few months ago, I got this black, semi-sheer sweater turtleneck from Zara and fell in love. Normally, I hate when shirts are kind of see-through, I feel like it just makes them look cheap. But this one is barely sheer and I love that it’s lightweight and not thick and bulky.Like most of my outfits, I decided that this turtleneck looks best paired with jeans. I think it looks great with black or blue denim but I decided to go with this relaxed-fit, light pair. Side note: I love these jeans and think everyone needs a pair, they’re so affordable!
Because the jeans are casual, I wanted to dress up the outfit with black and gold accessories. I think the shoes and belt I choose really tie the casual jeans into the classy black turtleneck. I know this outfit is super simple but something about it just made me feel very confident! It works for winter here in LA but it would be a great spring outfit in more colder climates!Turtleneck: Zara | Jeans: American Eagle | Mules: Target | Belt: Nordstrom | Lip Color: Bite Beauty Glacé
