We Were Featured on the Food Network’s Snapchat!

Our Feature on the Food Network's Snapchat!

If you follow us on social media then you know we had something HUGE happen to us last Thursday…we were featured on the Food Network’s Snapchat!! Let me backtrack a little and take you through last Thursday.

I woke up pretty early and immediately checked our Instagram account (follow us @thegarsowtwins–shameless plug). This is very unusual for me, I don’t usually check social media right when I wake up. But for some reason, I felt like checking Instagram. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted with 50+ new followers. This is WAY more than our daily average so to say I was confused would be an understatement. No one had re-posted one of our pictures, no one had tagged us in any new pictures, nothing on the ‘gram was out of the ordinary. The origin of these new followers would remain a mystery for most of the day.

Britta and I continuously sent confused texts all day as the followers rolled it. We FINALLY got some clarity in the late afternoon when a PR rep we had worked with emailed us congratulating us on being featured on The Food Network’s Snapchat. Um, excuse me? WHAT?!! We both immediately went to the Discover section on Snapchat (where Food Network’s account lives) and zoomed through to find our feature. I was almost in tears at work (as was Britta). Being featured on a major Snapchat account is cool enough but this article written by the Food Network’s Kristina Bornholtz was so kind and thought out. She discovered our blog and Instagram because of our Rainbow Funfetti Dip recipe. But instead of focusing on the recipe, she focused the article on us.

Our Feature on the Food Network's Snapchat!

We’ve been blogging for 3 years now and it’s not always easy to stay motivated and inspired. We work SO hard on this blog while holding down full-time jobs. This article was exactly what we needed. It made us feel like all our hard work is worth it. It reminded us why we started blogging in the first place (for FUN).

So to Kristina: Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your words meant so much to us you have no idea! To all of our new Instagram followers, thank YOU so much as well! I hope you continue to enjoy our posts!
