Baking is something that we find so relaxing. It just makes our hearts happy. It’s nice to come home and forget about the stresses of the day by popping some comfort food in the oven. So when we get to bake for the holidays we get REALY giddy. The holidays bring flavors like pumpkin spice, apple, and peppermint into our lives. It’s fun to play around with these seasonal flavors and see what kind of off-the-wall desserts we can create.
Nestle offers some awesome products to bake with, like rolled and ready cookie dough (could it get any easier?) and colored chocolate chip candies (makes any dessert Christmas themed instantly). If you aren’t inclined to baking and the thought of a stove scares you, try some of these baking recipes or this amazing Pinterest board.

We were so intrigued by the NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Harvest Apple Refrigerated Cookie Dough and wanted to create something rich and decadent with it. Lately we’ve been loving Brookies, which are basically fudgy brownies topped with chewy chocolate chip cookies. I know you’re probably thinking they sound like “too much” or “too sweet” or “too rich.” Well I’m here to tell you that you are “too wrong.” Von’s is one grocery store that has perfect the Brookie. I personally do not like desserts that are too sweet, where the flavors compete for attention on your tongue. We decided to make our brookies using the NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Harvest Apple Refrigerated Cookie Dough and blondie mix (which technically makes this a “blookie” but that sounds unappetizing). The sweet cookies mixed with the rich blondies makes the perfect dessert. Try this recipe for your Thanksgiving celebration!
Ingredients:
- NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Harvest Apple Refrigerated Cookie Dough
- Blondie Bar Baking Mix + ingredients listed on the box- You can make your own blondies, we just thought a mix would be quicker!
- Caramel Sauce
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Layer parchment paper in an 8×8 pan, grease the parchment paper
- Make your blondie dough- Our box mix required us to mix one egg, 4 ounces of melted butter, and the mix.
- Spread your blondie mix in the pan, and even out. Cook for approximately 18 minutes
- Take the cookie dough out of the package and place it in between two pieces of parchment paper. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough. You want to make sure it will fit perfectly on top the blondies in the 8×8 pan
- After 18 minutes take the blondies out of the oven and place the cookie dough on top. Bake for 14 minutes
- Allow to cool COMPLETELY. Drizzle caramel sauce on top.
Download this banner to decorate your home for Thanksgiving. You can also print the gift tags to attach to these brookies, and give them to a neighbor or friend!
