The Basic Black Bodysuit You Need
I know you’ve seen a lot of bodysuits on this blog (here, here, & here) but this one is my favorite yet. I talked about this bodysuit in a Five Weekly Favorites video recently but to summarize it is incredibly flattering and comfortable!
I found it for $13 at H&M on a whim. Since I wear bodysuits often I usually like to spend a little money on them to make sure they last, but this one called my name and I’m so glad I ended up trying it on. I will say that the sizing is odd. I’m usually a small on top and medium on the bottom so I always go with a size medium bodysuit (comfortably is key). However when I tried on the medium it felt a bit lose, but the small was really small. I ended up opting for the medium and I’m still really happy with it! Just thought it was worth a mention.
I have been on the hunt for a bodysuit I can wear all year long. And I should clarify that’s all year in Los Angeles where the weather doesn’t change all that much. All my bodysuits up until this point are tanks, so I have to layer them in the winter. I wanted something effortless. That I could throw on with jeans and loafers and be on my way. THIS is that bodysuit.
The boatneck is such a flattering cut and the quarter length sleeves make it wearable in warm and cool weather. I know I’ll be wearing this all spring long! And probably all summer, fall, and next winter too.
For this look, I paired the bodysuit with my new favorite shoes. My boyfriend bought them for me for my birthday (they were on my wishlist) and they are just as comfortable as they are cute! I love the subtle statement they make.
Overall I’m so pleased with this outfit. I would totally wear this to work or happy hour. The shoes dress it up a little without trying too hard.
