The holiday season is here! It’s the perfect time to start experimenting with new recipes since there are so many seasonal food releases. Carli and I always try to come up with seasonal cocktail recipes. We don’t drink too often so when we do we like to make it count. A few years ago we discovered White Russians and they’ve been a favorite wintertime cocktail of ours ever since.
We decided to take the White Russian to the next level and substitute half and half with International Delight Coffee Creamer. International Delight released some insane holiday flavors. The cookie monsters in us immediately gravitated towards The International Delight® Sugar Cookie Coffee Creamer. It seriously tastes like freshly baked cookies! We also picked up the International Delight® Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee Creamer, which is basically liquid Nutella.
While we initially bought these creamers for our drink recipe, we’ve also been using them non-stop in our morning coffee. They add a touch of sweetness and the bold flavor will compliment any blend you have! They also work great in hot chocolate.
These creamers are available at Walmart. Of course, right. We JUST got a Walmart nearby and we don’t know how we lived without one!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 oz International Delight® Sugar Cookie Coffee Creamer
- 1/2 oz International Delight® Chocolate Hazelnut Coffee Creamer
- 2 oz vodka
- 1 oz Irish creme liquor
- A spoonful of chocolate hazelnut spread
- Sugar
- Mini sugar cookies
- Small circular cookie cutter (if you can’t find mini sugar cookies)
Directions:
To rim your glass, spread about a tablespoon of chocolate hazelnut spread on a plate so that it is a couple centimeters thick. Dip your glass into the spread and move it back and forth a couple times to make sure it’s all covered. Now, pour some sugar on another plate and dip your glass into the sugar (again make sure all the spread is covered in sugar).
N0w you want to make a small slit in your mini cookies to put on the rim of the glass. I cut normal sized cookies with a donut cutter to get the very small round cookie for the glass. After you have the cookie on there, you just have to fill your cup almost to the top with ice.
Combine 2 oz vodka + 1 oz Irish Cream Liquor in a shaker or cup. Pour into your chocolate hazelnut rimmed glass. Now mix 1/2 oz of each creamer together and pour over your drink (being mindful of the rim).
We LOVE how these drinks turned out. They’re really simple to make and the garnish makes them feel extra fancy! We plan on making this White Russian during our binge-watching session of Gilmore Girls: A Year In The Life.
What’s your go-to holiday cocktail?
xx, Britta
