Candy + Wine Pairing – Twinspiration
Fall

Candy + Wine Pairing

This is the ultimate wine pairing for the frugal (read broke) 20-something that could care less about going out on Halloween night. You want to stay in, watch some Hocus Pocus & eat the rest of the Halloween candy that you “forgot” to give to those cute lil’ trick-or-treaters. I feel ya.

Please note that I know nothing about wine besides the fact that I like it. These are just suggested pairings based on my personal taste. I hope you enjoy!

SNICKERS + Poppy Pinot Noir

Snickers are so popular, they’re like the kids that sold candy bars during school. Oh, that wasn’t a thing at your school? I feel reeeal bad for you. Anyways, people say red wine & chocolate go together nicely. When I think of red wine, my mind immediately goes to Poppy Pinot Noir. It’s my fav red.

REESES PB CUPS + Trader Joes Velvet Moon Cabernet

Trader Joes describes this wine as “Cherry aroma, full-bodied, smooth tannins, hints of currant, blackberry, vanilla” & berries go well with peanut butter because who doesn’t love a good PB & J?

STARBURST + La Ferme Julien Rosé

I’ve actually never drank rose. I’ll get around to it eventually, the pink color really intrigues me. Because this wine is pink, I’m thinking it’s sweet/summery/refreshing. It’s probably all of that and more. I paired Starbursts with it because these fruity candies aren’t too sweet so they won’t over power the wine (I hope).

TWIX + The Naked Grape Harvest Red Blend

Harvest Red Blend sounded perfect for this autumnal season! Caramel & cookies from the Twix just seemed like they would pair well with the fall spices that are sure to be in this red blend!

SKITTLES + The Naked Grape Pinot Grigio

This pinot grigio is light bodied & mildly sweet. It compliments the ultra sweet, rainbow taste of the skittles well! Plus this is my favorite cheap white wine & skittles are my favorite candy that’s not chocolate.

TWIZZLERS + Barefoot Moscato

I personally don’t think Twizzlers are that sweet. Moscato is very sweet. Pair the two together and you’ve got a perfectly balanced pair. Bonus: you can drink your wine using a Twizzlers as a straw.

I hope you enjoyed this candy & wine pairing! Which combo was your favorite?! Let me know in the comments below!
