How to Wear the Bell Sleeve Trend
As you know we rarely wear color, but something about spring makes me want to step outside of my comfort zone. I realized that my closet lacked spring blouses, ie. short sleeves tops. Express always has amazing sales and I have found some nice pieces there in the past so I decided to peruse the website and landed on this bell sleeve top. To be honest, I initially wanted it in white but it was sold out in my size, so I opted for the shade ‘Thornberry’ which is just a fancy way to say mauve.
I love the bell sleeve trend and I thought this top would be a great way to test to waters, so to speak. It’s casual enough to wear with denim and slides like I did. But you could always dress it up with leather leggings and heels, which I plan on doing. I’m all about versatility in my wardrobe. I’m definitely not one of those people that buys specific pieces to wear with other specific items. I like clothes that play well with others.
I wore this outfit to a casual lunch so I paired the bell sleeve top with my go-to black TOPSHOP Jamie Jeans, and my Dolce Vita mules (currently sold out!) you may have seen here. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. Literally my favorite shoes at the moment. And there’s a mauve color in the stitching that the top helps bring out. I always like to tuck the front of my shirts into elongate my legs, but you can leave it untucked as well.
