As we’ve gotten older our skin tends to “freak out” when it comes in contact with certain things, like glycolic acid and other harsh ingredients. Because of this, we try to use natural products whenever possible. You’ve probably heard us ramble on Youtube about how much we love Rose Hip Seed oil. It’s definitely easier to find natural skincare than natural makeup products. There are certain binding ingredients in makeup that help them stay on your face all day and blend together. So when Antonym Cosmetics, an all-natural cosmetics company, offered to send us some of their products to try we jumped at the chance!
First, we’ll start with the eyes…
Certified Natural Eye Pencil in Noir & Brown | $19
We were probably the most excited to try these eye pencils because our eyes are super sensitive and often times eyeliner causes them to water uncontrollably which defeats the purpose of lining your waterline entirely. Both shades glided on super smooth and didn’t cause any irritation. They were also surprisingly pigmented. Its nice Antonym offers both black and brown since we always have both shades on hand. Our only con about this product would be that it does run a little and left some residue on the outer corners of our eye. But a lot of other pencils do that as well and since this is all natural it’s still worth the hassle of wiping that excess off with a q tip! The pencil sharpener on the end is also a big plus!
Certified Organic Mascara Lola Lash Too | $26
Anyone that knows us knows that we are the MOST particular about mascaras. I’m just going to try that out there. We have really long and thin lashes so we often reach for something that gives us volume and defines. Often times that means a thicker formula that coats the lashes well. The brush on this mascara is really nice and definitely gave us definition but the formula fell flat. It’s not very black and it’s too liquidy for our liking, so it didn’t grip onto and coat the lashes. I will say that since it’s so watery it was easy to clean up around the eyes which is nice. In this picture, I used it with another mascara to show that this mascara definitely helps with definition. If you are someone that has naturally thick lashes you might like this!
Onto the face!
Certified Organic Baked Blush in Copper & Rose | $36
Can we take a moment to admire this packaging?! It’s So stunning the way they mixed a natural element like wood with a beautiful tie dye type product. These have to be some of the prettiest blushes we’ve ever seen. We first swatched both of these shades on our hands before trying them on our face, and the two shades couldn’t be more different. While both felt smooth to the touch, the Rose shade is definitely more sheer and natural and the Copper shade is insanely metallic and dark. They are both stunning but we knew that we were too pale to use the Copper shade as a blush (at the moment), so for or this post, we decided to pop it onto the lid and use it as a shadow. We adore how it makes the eyes pop and it looks like liquid metal! The rose shade is a great neutral pink that is suitable for any skin tone. It’s definitely a blush we’ll reach for on those “no makeup, makeup” days.
Next up…lips!
Certified Natural Lipstick Pencil in Naturelle & Pinkish | $17
Right off the bat, we were the most impressed with this product! They glide onto the lips so smoothly but at the same time, they have a lot of staying power. Both shades were fairly pigmented and looked great with our skin tone. In recent months we’ve been reaching for lip pencils instead of lipsticks since they’re so easy to use and perform really well. These have become staple everyday lip products for us!
Overall this was the first all natural makeup we’ve tried and we’re definitely hooked! Antonym Cosmetics also sells foundation, highlighter, & eyeshadow palettes if you’re interested!
