Moroccanoil

We’ve talked about our struggle to possess healthy hair many times on this blog. It’s been a long road to recovery (not dramatic at all) but we finally repaired our manes to their former glory.

Over the past few years we’ve learned that there are some things that are absolutely necessary for healthy hair. One of those things is serums and creams that protect against heat and lock in moisture. After every shower I use 2-3 hair protectants. All have different purposes and all work together to keep my hair happy.

Recently we were given the opportunity to try Moroccanoil and we couldn’t have been more excited. We’ve heard about this magical Argan oil from every beauty blogger we follow. The Moroccanoil website states “Our antioxidant infused, nutrient rich, innovative formulas are unmatched and provide dramatic results.” Those are some big words, and we’re happy to report that all four products we tried exceeded our expectations.

We were surprised to find that our favorite product, Argan oil, was best used for the skin! Talk about versatile. We love an oil that can be used in more than one way. And dare we say that Argan oil is more impressive than coconut oil.

Read on for our complete review of each product.

MOROCCANOIL TREATMENT ORIGINAL

We have very fine hair, so we’re very picky about hair serums, as most of them way our hair down. We knew that wouldn’t be an issue with this treatment, based on the reviews alone. The first thing we noticed was the smell is so natural and clean. We applied about a nickel sized dollop to damp hair and blow dried. We tend to focus on the ends of our hair since they need the most work. A little goes a long way and after your hair is dry you won’t feel any residue from this serum. We don’t like when hair treatments leave your hair feeling TOO silky, or leave a waxy coating. This does none of that. Just leaves your hair feeling healthy and clean!

HYDRATING STYLING CREAM

We’ve actually never found a styling cream that we like. Serums and oils tend to be more penetrating so we gravitate towards those. So we were shocked when we fell in love with this hydrating styling cream. It’s SO incredibly hydrating. Like the Moroccanoil treatment we applied a small amount to damp hair and blow dried. The cream left our hair shiny and manageable. I don’t think my hair has ever felt softer. Use this if you suffer from dull, dry hair and need to lock in moisture!

RESTORATIVE HAIR MASK

Masks aren’t usually our go to hair product, since they tend to be time consuming. It’s hard to physically get out of the shower to apply a mask when you have momentum going. However, when your hair needs a tall drink of water a mask is really your only option. Since they’re so concentrated with nutrients masks are a power packed way to get your hair healthy fast. We were very excited to try this Moroccanoil mask since we fell in love with all the other products. This mask is pure magic. You don’t fully notice the results until your hair is dry. You are left with soft and strong strands that feel completely new and revived. It’s incredible. And the results seem to be long lasting, which means you won’t need to use this mask more than once a week, or even once a month!

PURE ARGAN OIL

Basically the OIL OF THE GODS. This stuff is life changing. It states on the bottle that you can use argan oil for your hair, nails, or skin. In the Winter we suffer from dry skin, so we decided to use this oil on our hands. We’ve never found an oil that actually works as a hand moisturizer. Oils usually sit on top of the skin and just make for greasy hands that smell like coconut. This argan oil soaks right into the skin and quenches it instantly. We literally used one drop and the moisture lasts all day!
