I am one who always loved the idea of blouses but it’s hard for me to find ones I truly love and will reach for. When I saw this blouse from the Who What Wear collection from Target in photos, I thought it looked cute but was unsure of how it would look on me and how I would wear it. Well as soon as I got it in the mail, I noticed the small details that make this top special, specifically the buttons that go all the way up the side of the arm all the way to the neck area. I absolutely love exposed buttons and think this detail really elevates this blouse and makes it look more expensive then it is.
The other qualities I love about this blouse are the mock next/low turtleneck feature (love me a good mock neck) and the color scheme: black & white. You just can’t go wrong with a black and white blouse – it will go with everything. I’m not even a big polka dot print fan but because of the muted color scheme, I enjoy the print on this top. When I first got this blouse I thought it would be a great top to wear to the office. I can basically wear whatever I want to the office (it’s thankfully a very typical casual Southern California office environment) but I like to look nice and put together most days, especially when I have outside meetings. I also wanted to style the shirt in a way that was still casual and not too fancy. I wanted the end result to be an outfit I could wear to the office and also go out to dinner with friends or my BF at night. To achieve this look I decided to pair the top with these dark, straight legged jeans from Topshop. I know pairing the top with black jeans would make it a more sophisticated, buttoned-up look, but blue jeans definitely keep the outfit semi-casual and I love that.
Because it’s still a little chilly here (not sandals season quite next) – I wore my trusty black booties with this outfit but I think cute black slip-on mules would be perfect too. And although makeup is personal, I think a deep berry lip was a perfect match with this tip. I just love the end look!
