It’s been awhile since we did a drink recipe for the blog. We’re not professional bartenders or anything, so sometimes we feel like our drinks can be boring. But regardless of our lack-luster drink making skills, we want to keep putting up drink recipes for you all.
Britta and I are huge grapefruit fans. The name itself is perplexing to say the least, but the taste is divine. Part sweet, part tart, with a little bit of tang. What’s not to love? We especially enjoy grapefruit based cocktails since this fruit somehow manages to cut out the taste of alcohol all together. Sure, I enjoy tequila, but would I drink it on the rocks? NO WAY. The grapefruit & the lime juice in this Paloma completely cover up the tequila.
Palomas are refreshing and not overly sweet, which is why we love them. We altered a basic Paloma recipe to make it a tad healthier. We prefer to eat our calories rather than drink them. Cookies > alcohol, whose with me?! I’m done talking now, I know you want a drink.
Ingredients (makes 1 drink):
- 2oz silver tequila (use silver to make it healthier)
- 2oz grapefruit juice
- 2oz low-cal grapefruit seltzer water
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 packets of low-calorie sweetener (we used Stevia In The Raw)
- limes for garnish (optional)
Are you ready? This is super simple. Mix all ingredients in the glass of your choosing and add some ice. Cheers!
