Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick The Luscious Mattes Review + Swatches

Revlon The Luscious Mattes Review | Twinspiration

You guys know how obsessed we are with lipstick. We’re always on the hunt for the perfect formula and shades. We especially pay attention when drugstore brands release new lipsticks because what is better than finding the perfect lipstick at an affordable price point? Revlon recently sent us a few shades from their new The Luscious Mattes collection, which is a continuation of their Super Lustrous Lipstick range. Years ago there was a time when we couldn’t go a day without Revlon Black Cherry, so it was so nostalgic to see it in brought back in this new (super-luxe) matte packaging.

With that said, I have to start this review to talk about the gorgeous packaging on these lipsticks. It’s the same profile and their current lipsticks but these have a soft-touch matte finish, which is such a nice touch.

The formula is creamy matte, very similar to our beloved Lisa Eldridge matte lipsticks. These don’t accentuate lip lines and are easily blotted down if you prefer that look. I do want to mention that most of the shades we received did stain. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it can be less obvious when the lipstick wears off, just something to keep in mind! Also, not a total surprise but the deeper shades were definitely patchier than the brighter ones. We generally pair all lipsticks with a lip liner, so this isn’t a huge issue.

We received the below 10 shades but there are 24 in the collection. Overall there are plenty of unique shades but we were hoping for more nudes and neutrals. There are a lot of beautiful bright shades but since we love the formula so much, we were hoping for a peachy nude!

Overall we love this formula and are so excited to see what other shades Revlon brings out! Only taking off points due to the shade range and patchiness on some shades.

Will you be trying these new lipsticks from Revlon?
