Orange is one of those color palettes that just screams fall, especially when it comes to fashion. It’s so funny because orange to me has always been one of my least favorite colors. However, I absolutely love the color in the clothes and makeup category. I’ve talked at length about my all-time favorite eyeshadow color, Anastasia’s Caramel which is a rich orange/brown. And every fall I seem to fall in love with one piece of orange-hued clothing item. Without fail.
Now that fall is over, I must say I was quite surprised to see this orange top in Who What Wear’s spring collection. A typical spring color palette usually looks something like this: pale yellow, bright coral, light peach. I have really never thought about wearing orange this time of year but oh am I happy I got this blouse. The blouse has a casual, relaxed fit (my favorite keywords), but is elevated with the addition of its voluminous sleeves and unique collar-less look. If this was fall, I would probably pair it with a pair of black jeans and booties but to lighten the color palette for spring, I paired the blouse with a light pair of denim and my favorite brown leather mules. No black to be found in this outfit!
I think as the weather warms up this top would go nicely with a light pair of denim shorts as well. Because it is so voluminous and non-shapely, I would definitely recommend pairing with a more structured bottoms (no flowy skirts!).
So what do you think about the orange spring trend?
