This month has been centered around change for us, especially me. I went to my favorite city on a work trip, started a new job which I am loving, and got a puppy! Whew! Carli and I also finally upgraded to the Canon 6D!! This has been a long time coming. We take this blog very seriously and we really want our photos to reflect that. Read on for a more specific breakdown of our highlights from October!
I was working on the social media team at Beautycon, and I went to New York City for our Beautycon festival! I had never been to NYC for work before and it made me feel like such an adult! We had a small amount of downtime so I took the opportunity to check out Brooklyn since I had never been. It’s one of my new favorite places in NYC! Also, if you can’t tell it rained the whole trip.
Pardon My French Nail Bar
Pardon My French Nail Bar was nice enough to host Carli and I for manis & pedis. This was a treat for us. We rarely take time from work and this blog to pamper ourselves. Everyone was so nice and welcoming. They did an amazing job on our nails. In fact, our gel manicures are still intact! If you’re in the Orange County area we would definitely recommend them.
Desert Trip 2016
This was a life-changing experience honestly. Carli’s boyfriends father generously offered up his extra ticket so the Desert Trip festival in Indio (otherwise known as “Oldchella”). Carli and I rode up to Palm Spring on Saturday morning and met everyone at the Air BnB. If you haven’t been to Palm Springs please go! It’s one of our favorite places. Plenty of sunshine, and inexpensive Air BnBs! Anyways, Saturday night Neil Young AND Paul McCartney performed. I KNOW. They’re true legends that we grew up listening to via our parents. It was so surreal to see them live and in person. I can’t even explain the magic that was happening that night. It’s something we’ll always remember!
New Camera Alert!
As mentioned before, Carli and I finally upgraded to the Canon 6D! We’ve been using our Canon Rebel for over a year now. It’s served us well but it was time to move on! We really want to up our photo game in general and take more professional looking photos for the blog. We hope you enjoy the new image quality (if that’s something people enjoy?)!
When we lived in San Diego Carli and I would wander to Julian, CA every fall to go apple picking. It’s seriously the best! Fresh apples, quaint bakeries, and friendly people. Now that we live in Los Angeles the closest orchards are in Oak Glen, CA. Which is about an hour and a half from our place. YIKES. But we decided to drive up and give this place a chance. They actually had a good amount of orchards and it was something new for us all to experience! A full recap will be coming soon.
