NYX Water Palette Tutorial

Although Carli and I LOVE makeup, we’re definitely not professionals. But it’s a true passion of ours so we’re always trying to push our boundaries to create unique makeup looks that wouldn’t be for everyday wear. Because honestly on most days you’ll find us rocking a neutral crease shape and a bold lip. When I saw that NYX was coming out with their “In Your Element” palettes I knew I had to try one. I was instantly drawn to the Water palette. I find the mix of blues and greens completely stunning, and those shades tend to bring out my eye color.

Before this tutorial, I don’t think I’ve ever worn blue eyeshadow (aside from 6th grade when I had no idea what I was doing). I think blue eyeshadow gets a bad reputation because it’s been used the wrong way in the past. So I wanted to create a blue smokey/halo eye that’s very wearable. Meaning the pigments are still more muted than let’s say a mermaid eye look. They’re deeper and more jewel-toned than anything.
