Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Dark Magic Palette Tutorial

Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Dark Magic Palette Tutorial | Twinspiration

When Jaclyn Hill first unveiled her vault collection with Morphe the Dark Magic Palette stood out to me. I love all the color stories she created but this one was filled with gorgeous teals and deep jewel tones. I knew I had to have it! I was at Ulta recently and they had her palettes in store, surprisingly. I was able to use the $3.50 off coupon so the palette was around $12.50 total, such a steal. I know the Jaclyn Hill x Morphe collection has been getting mixed reviews which means there are probably inconsistencies in the palettes. I mention this in the video but I did have trouble with the shade ‘Potion,’ it was a bit patchy but I was able to make it work. I used the shade ‘Shh’ throughout the look and it wasn’t as pigmented as the rest but I actually prefer that for a transition shade. Overall the quality of these shadows is better than other Morphe palettes I’ve tried but of course, it’s not on par with Anastasia shadows, which is to be expected at this price point.

For this tutorial, I wanted to do an everyday matte smokey eye that can be done quickly and effortlessly. I feel like this type of eye look suits me the best and although I can appreciate a blown out, colorful smokey eye, that’s not really my jam. I hope you enjoy this tutorial! xx, Britta

I love this tutorial! I am getting the palette for my birthday and would never have thought to use the green this way. I also have green, slightly hooded eyes so I think this will be perfect to try!

Thanks, Julia! We have slightly hooded eyes too and this works for us!
