Summer is officially here! Our summers are usually jam-packed with trips and get together’s and this month was no exception. Let’s take a look!
Our best friend came to visit!
Our best friend Alyssa used to come to San Diego to visit us EVERY Spring. Talk about bring a great friend. She’s moved around a few times in recent years which prevented her from visiting us, so she hadn’t been to California since we moved to LA. We were so excited to show her around and give her a peek into our everyday lives. We took her to happy hour at The Hudson, Mama Shelter, and of course, our favorite spot in all of LA, The Trails Cafe. It was a weekend packed full of good times and yes there were tears when we said our goodbyes.
MOVE Beyond
If you know us you know our obsession with Dancing with the Stars & Julianne and Derek Hough. We’ve been to their MOVE shows in the past and we were thrilled that they went back on tour this year for MOVE Beyond! This show was the best one yet! They’re singing was almost more impressive than their dancing (if that’s even possible). We left the show feeling incredibly inspired! At one point Derek has us all stand up and hug each other. It sounds corny but it was so overwhelming to see such a large display of affection in a time when our world desperately needs love. Like I said, truly inspiring. Hourglass Cosmetics Event
As I’ve talked about previously, I’m a Yelp Elite member and because of this, I get invited to Yelp Elite events. Most of them focus on new restaurants of course but this month I was able to attend an event at the Hourglass Flagship Store! Carli and I LOVE Hourglass Cosmetics so we were so excited to be able to learn more about the brand and their innovative products. A few long-time Hourglass employees did a whole complexion class where they demonstrated how to properly use some of their most popular products. Yelp also provided an amazing selection of cheese, from Gjusta. The store is in Venice and we never really go over to the West Side so it was a nice change of scenery!
