Now that it’s fall (happy first day of fall, everyone!), we can start getting excited about Halloween! It is one of our absolute favorite holidays, for the costumes and the fun treats. We’ve made a lot of seasonal dips in the past but we’ve never attempted themed chocolate bark. I know, it’s shocking. We are queens of dessert and have NEVER made bark before…until now!

For this super simple Halloween bark recipe, we had to use our new favorite Boo-tterscotch M&M’s. Carli and I love butterscotch so these are a dream come true. These M&M’s are exclusive to Target; we found them in the seasonal Halloween section of the store. Side note: If you have Target’s Cartwheel app you can save 10% right now on  Mars Products!

We also picked up these cute Dove Milk Chocolate Ghosts (these are also exclusive to Target) and this Starburst Halloween mix (our household is partial to the cherry kiwi flavor).

You will need:

  • 1 bag of Boo-tterscotch M&M’s
  • 3 cups of dark chocolate chips (a little less than two 10 oz bags)
  • Pretzels
  • Candy corn

Directions:

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.

Melt 3 cups of chocolate chips in the microwave on medium power for 2 minutes. Stir every 20 seconds (this is important).

Pour the chocolate onto the parchment paper. Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer about 1/4-inch thick. Place the candy on top of the chocolate.

Remove the bark from the refrigerator and place the wax paper & bark on the counter top or cutting board. Cut the bark into irregularly shaped pieces. Serve immediately or store in an air-tight container in a refrigerator. I put them back in the fridge after cutting since they started to melt pretty fast.
