We are actual cookie monsters. Those of you that have seen us eat cookies IRL know that we devour them in the blink of an eye. We’ve always been this way, and I don’t anticipate our cookie eating to get any more delicate.

You can imagine how we feel about OREOs. They’re basically the queen of cookies (we’re giving them a gender ok). While the original chocolate/vanilla combo is amazing, there are SO MANY flavors to fall in love with. We personally love the peanut butter, heads & tails, and mint varieties. In recent months OREO has released so many limited edition flavors, it’s hard to keep up! Our favorite limited edition OREO is definitely the Gingerbread. So we’re excited for them to come back this winter!

While OREO has played around with flavors, they haven’t really experimented with size…until now! Nabisco recently introduced OREO Thins. A thinner, crispier OREO. As much as we love OREOs as a whole, we’ve always preferred the cookie to the creme. So when we found out that OREO was making a cookie with a thinner layer of creme we basically lost out shi*t. As predicted, when we tried these babies, all our dreams came true. OREO Thins are surprisingly super crispy! Since they’re not as rich they make a perfect mid-day snack.

To go with our new OREOs we decided to make a new cookie jar! We wanted something that fit our taste and matched our decor. As you guys know we’ve been really into gold and marble these days. We try to incorporate both in our home as much as possible. So here is the tutorial for our glitter apothecary cookie jar!

Supplies:

Directions:

  1. Lay down a paper bag/newspaper (to catch the glitter). Take the lid off the jar and place it on the paper.
  2. Paint a thick coat of Mod Podge on the lid, using the foam brush. Pour glitter over the lid. You may need to pick up the lid to do the sides. Let dry for 30 minutes (or until it feels dry).
  3. Touch up any spots with no glitter
  4. When it’s completely dry put a thick coat of Mod Podge over the top of the glitter. Let dry overnight
  5. Put the cookies in the jar and top with the lid!

I have a couple of those jars and never though to glitter the top.. how cute is that.. and as for an oreo cookie lover.. I made the chocolate parfaits with them and needless to say – I’m even more hooked.

This is very cute! I don’t really have sweets in the house but it would make a great candy jar too. I think I will have to give this a try.

I try to make sure I take some time out for myself, whether it be a coffee break or a bubble bath. I love this idea- it certainly makes the cookies seem like the queen of the cookie aisle! #client
