Buckle up ladies & gents, we’re talking about skincare. This is important stuff.

As you get older, your skincare routine probably focuses less on preventing acne and more on preventing wrinkles. But regardless of what your main skin concern is, you need to use GOOD quality products. And if you’re a college student (ballin’ on a budget) you want nice products at a reasonable price.

Neutrogena makes GOOD quality products. It’s #1 dermatologist recommend and it’s affordable. What more could you ask for? Oh that’s right, you probably want it to smell amazing. Well guess what, people?! They have a grapefruit-scented skincare line that will make all your senses come alive. Am I being dramatic? Use these products and then let me know (Spoiler alert: you’ll love the scent & products just as much as I do).

Carli and I have always used Neutrogena. We’ve tried other brands and always come running back to their amazing products. The grapefruit line is something new for us, but so far we’re loving it (no breakouts, dry patches or excess oil, yay!).

All of these products are available for purchase at Target. Target is actually running a “buy three get one free” promotion on facial care right now. Score! The promotion goes until 9/12/15 so get these products before then. You can also use the 10% off Neutrogena Cosmetics Cartwheel coupon through 8/29/15! So many savings, I love it.

Here is our current skincare routine using the Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit line:

Step 1: Neutrogena Oil-Free Cleansing Wipes, Pink Grapefruit

Remembering to take off your makeup can be hard at times, I know. But you should do it! When Carli and I were in college (oh the memories), we would sometimes forget to take off our makeup and wake up in the morning with a few new breakouts. Darn. Simply removing our makeup could have easily prevented the breakouts. If you know you’re going to be out & about one night, bring a travel sized pack of wipes with you (or put a few wipes in a plastic baggy & stick that in your purse!)

Step 2: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Facial Cleanser, Pink Grapefruit

OR

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash Foaming Scrub, Pink Grapefruit

Let me first just say that if you buy anything from this line, please let it be the facial cleanser or foaming scrub. They seriously smell so fresh & inviting, perfect for summer.

You should never use both facial cleanser & facial scrub right after one another. Even if you have oily skin, you want to be gentle. Washing your face too much will strip your skin of its natural oils & your skin will dry out. You should use facial cleanser on most days and face scrub on your oily days. Carli and I have combination skin so we have very oily t-zones. This facial wash and face scrub both work great at keeping oil at bay. The scrub is better at removing dirt & dry skin, but I personally wouldn’t use it everyday, as it can be pretty abrasive. The facial cleanser is a better option for Carli and I for everyday use since our pores don’t get very clogged with dirt & oil.

Step 3: Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil-Eliminating Astringent (optional)

I use this face toner by Neutrogena every night and I feel it really cleans out my skin even after I wash my face. Carli doesn’t use face toner every day and still has clean skin & rare breakouts. Everyone’s skin is different so if you feel like toner works for you, use it! This one really makes my skin look even and toned. It also makes my pores look smaller which is one of my biggest skincare concerns.

Step 4: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Moisturizer, Pink Grapefruit

Moisturizing your skin might be the most important step in every skincare routine. You NEVER want to skip this step. Even if you have oily skin, you still need to moisturize.

Your future self will thank you. You will have less wrinkles and overall better skin.

Like I said before, Carli and I have oily t-zones. We prefer light moisturizers for this reason. One of the things I love about this particular moisturizer is that it has salicylic acid acne treatment right in it. I’ve had a few breakouts this week and after using this at night, they were smaller and less red in the morning. Awesome!
