DIY Donuts & Rosé T-Shirt

We bought our Silhouette Cameo Machine about a year ago now and we STILL haven’t designed any t-shirts with it! There are so many cute graphic tees out there. A few of our faves being “Namastay in Bed” and “Brunch Squad,” so we thought we should recreate some of our favorite witty sayings in t-shirt form.

We actually saw Kelly from Studio DIY wearing a Donuts & Rosé tee on her blog and thought “OMG WE HAVE TO HAVE THAT SHIRT.” But of course it was sold out. So that’s when it clicked. We would make our own!

We don’t have a lot of experience with fabric paint but we found the perfect blush pink shade on Amazon and we’re actually super impressed with how well it works. Then we picked up some plain tees at Target (they were on sale 2/$10.00!) and got to work. If you remember we used the vinyl stencil method on our DIY Farmers Market Bags and it’s seriously fool proof! So we went this direction again with our Donuts & Rosé T-Shirt’s.

Supplies:

Directions:

  1. Cut out the Donuts & Rosé stencil using your Silhouette Cameo Machine
  2. Instead of using the individual vinyl letters, take all the letter’s out so you’re left with a “stencil.”
  3. Place the stencil in the center of your t-shirt. Make sure it’s secure.
  4. Using your sponge stamp the fabric paint all over the stencil. It’s better to do two thin layers than one thick later. The fabric will leak through the shirt so make sure to put some cardboard in the middle.
  5. Let dry overnight.

Overall we are SO SO happy with how these turned out! It was also super fun to use some props in these photos. These galaxy donuts are from Vons if you can believe it!

What’s another fun t-shirt saying?
