DIY Copper & Wood Block Candlesticks

At this point, I think you all know how much I love copper. I find copper piping one of the easiest & best craft supplies. I’ve been wanting to make some fun candlesticks with copper pipes for some time now and just needed some inspiration. I found inspiration in these little wooden blocks I found at Hobby Lobby. Perfect. I love the copper & wood combo as you can probably tell by these copper shelves I made. This project is super simple and I loved how these DIY Copper and Wood Block Candlesticks turned out.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Directions:

  1. Use the painters tape to tape off half of the wooden cubes.
  2. Use your foam brush to paint the un-taped portion of the block gray. You will probably need to do 2-3 coats. I did 3 to be safe. Let dry overnight.
  3. The Loctite glue is great because it has a very fine tip. Carefully squeeze out the glue onto one side of the copper coupling. Press down on the wooden block on the side that does not have the gray paint. Don’t move it and let dry overnight.
  4. Carefully place tapered candles into the copper couplings & you’re done! So easy!

So cool! The half painted wooden cubes are such a cute addition to the copper pipe.

Copper tubing is so easy to bend that I once made a wall-hung entry table with it. Just bend the tube into a shape you like, attach to the wall and add a topper. Mine was a half round glass top that I got straight from a glass shop. Very inexpensive. That was in a house from long ago. Wish that I had thought to take a photo of it at the time.
