When it comes to mascara price tag is not always an indicator of a good one. In fact, in our opinion, there are just as many good drugstore mascaras as there are high-end. This can’t really be said of any other product but there are some serious gems at the drugstore.
CoverGirl LashBlast Volume Mascara | Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara | L’Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara | Maybelline Great Lash Mascara | Covergirl The Super Sizer Mascara | Maybelline Volum’ The Colossal Mascara | Essence The False Lashes Mascara Extreme Volume & Curl | L’Oreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara | Maybelline Volum’ Express The Falsies Mascara | Essence I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara
Our love of mascara definitely started with the Covergirl LashBlast. Do you guys remember when that orange tube hit shelves? We do. Everyone and their mother were talking about it and it soon became a staple for us. Thanks to YouTube we ventured into other brands. Jaclyn Hill raves about the L’Oreal Carbon Black Mascara and oh is it GOOD. Probably the blackest of the bunch.
A year or so ago Covergirl released their Super Sizer Mascara. We really thought we would hate this one because the wand is so slim but with a couple coats, it leaves your lashes looking voluminous and beautiful! We also like the fiber version of this mascara.
Covergirl isn’t the only top contender when it comes to mascaras. We’ve always been fans of the Maybelline Volum’ Express line, especially The Colossal Mascara & The Falsies. Both have serious staying power and really lift and separate the lashes. But DO NOT try the new Big Shot Mascara by Maybelline. It’s actually the worst.
Since Essence made it’s way into Targets everywhere we’ve been testing out a few of their products, including mascara. There are two in the line that really stand out, the “I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara” & “The False Lashes Mascara.” These are both insanely inexpensive while still maintaining quality. The wands are on the larger side so they add some serious volume to our thin lashes.
We hope this list helps you navigate the mascara aisle on your next Target run!
